Layout

layouts/index.html

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
  <head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8" />
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0" />
    <script src="alpine.js" defer></script>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="output.css" />
  </head>
  <body>
    {{ .Content }}
  </body>
</html>

Line 10

{{ .Content }}
  • .Content : default page variable to access Markdown content

Conclusion

  • Hugo automatically runs .Content through the Markdown parser and provides a string to place directly in the document
